This solution is customized for your specific needs, but allows the entire school lunch ordering and reporting system paperless and online. This exciting expansion will greatly reduce overhead and allow students and parents to easily make orders and school administrators to get real-time reporting on the orders. Parents are also able to pay for their orders online! Let’s go through some of the main features.
Website Integration There is no need to learn a new system or make your students and parents go to other sites. We can incorporate the meal system directly into a website, using secure login and account management.
Monthly Programs
Split your meals into monthly or bi-monthly programs so you can more easily control the orders as well as specify cut off dates for both new orders and changes to existing orders. After the cutoff date of particular program students and parents will be still able to view their orders online and print off quick schedules to remind them what they are to have on a particular day. Administrators will still be able to make changes should the occasion arise.
Dynamic Meals
Enter unlimited meals into the system with options and additional costs for extras on each meal. Your meals also may include a detailed description including photos. The price for each meal is independent of each other, allowing changes along the way. Students and parents may order a single order per day per student, but may alter those changes at any time until the cutoff date for that monthly program.
Simple Order Process
A user friendly interface allows parents and students to quickly scan through the meals and make their order. Each meal has a full description and a simple checkbox. An order review box makes it simple to get the total price for all the orders and an overview of what changes you may be making if you are editing an existing order.
Printable Order Form
There are parents who remain uncomfortable with E-Commerce or using online systems, regardless of the security we use. To easily accommodate these users, a printable order form is available on the website as well.
Billing Accounts
Each student and staff member receives a billing account, which contains the current balance that is due to the school. Parents with multiple students will be able to see the total balance due for all their children and either mail in a check or pay right online. If a student or parent changes an order after paying, or has a positive balance due to absence or snow days, the positive balance will carry over and be counted as a credit the following month program. The system is simple and works like a credit card. Charges are made on a user account when purchasing meals and the balance is reduced or removed when a payment is entered. User friendly administration tools allow for quick reporting and administration of all accounts and analysis.

The corresponding reporting found in our custom Spruance Web Controller allow administrators to quickly view accounts and make changes. Administrators are also able to get quick reports for total account activity based on month, program, or individual user.

There is no new language or code to learn to use Spruance. If you can understand a word processor, you will be fine.
What exactly is Spruance? Well, it is a web application that runs behind the scenes with various advanced tools within it to allow you the ability to make changes in real time to the ministry. You may access Spruance through a specific website address and with a secure username and password. You may make changes to your web ministry with Spruance, anytime and from any internet connection.
Spruance, now in its’ third full release has gone through many changes over the past several years. The current edition is written in the latest Microsoft framework and utilizes the latest Microsoft database server. Is this the cheapest way to build a website? No. But, when developing Faith in Site, we decided that our goal was to build advanced tools that could grow with a congregation in any number of ways. School Lunch Program Packages have two prices that you will need to be aware of. The first being the development cost for the system itself. This is the price for the design, programming, and development of the website itself. This cost is due half upon the start of the development with the remainder due when the development has been completed and you are trained on Spruance and the new ministry. The second price is the hosting and licensing costs for the system, which are a monthly recurring cost.
